Dear Friends,
Since last year’s event came to an end, I have been looking forward to what God will do again. We experienced His presence in a special way, and even witnessed a couple come to know the Lord right before our eyes.
Coaches and their families face challenges that only you understand. We face incredible pressure to “win” along with the other responsibilities each day brings. This camp is a place to come and gather with others in your same shoes, retreat, restore and revive in the off-season. Enjoy great food, fellowship and family time, along with spiritual renewal through worship, God’s Word and small group huddle time – all at beautiful Blue Lake Camp in Andalusia, AL .
I will see you there!
Rev. Chris Buskirk, the minister of
Abiding Harvest UMC in Broken
Arrow, Oklahoma, will lead our
charge to become closer to God and to
our fellow Christian soldiers.
JOIN THE CHARGE!
While he’s an outstanding pulpit minister, he’s even better known for the organization of his
church, Abiding Harvest. The central core of his congregation is twelve groups called home
teams—committed followers of Christ who meet together each week to hold themselves and their church accountable to God. The ministry of the church grows from those teams into a unique, effective witness of God’s power in hearts and minds of His people. We’ve asked Chris to tell us about the individual and group dynamics of such a heartgripping ministry.
We are currently in need of extra *kitchen and housekeeping staff*. If interested please contact our office:

Blue Lake announces an opportunity for everyone to join in its excitement of growth in outdoor and retreat ministry.
The 20 for 12 campaign encourages giving $20 a month for 12 months in 2012 to Blue Lake Camp. It is a chance for families, individuals, women’s groups, golf foursomes, reunion and study groups, men’s clubs, and any other grouping of people to be involved in this important work. Even children’s Sunday School classes and Youth Groups can participate.
The 20 for 12 fund will increase scholarships for children and youth, as well as for leadership training, adult and family events. It will help maintain the 320 acres of beautiful forest and developed land that we all value, and keep our facilities fresh, safe, and accessible. Funds help keep camp and retreat fees low, and help develop leadership for new and vital programs. As Blue Lake grows in partnership with other AWF Conference groups, we also are reaching out to the larger community we serve to provide Christian Hospitality to other religious, educational and non-profit organizations, becoming a more important outreach arm of our church.
Prayerfully consider joining the excitement in the 20 for 12 program, and link to our giving page to become a part of this celebration of ministry!
